Kolkata: A person identified as Anirudh Yadav has been arrested by Bidhannagar East police station for allegedly stealing a piece of diamond worth Rs 6 lakh. He was produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court, Bidhannagar, and has been remanded to four days’ police custody. On January 16, Vikas Jain, a resident CJ Block, lodged a complaint stating that his diamond was missing. He stated that on January 9, he had placed the diamond in his pant’s pocket but later could not trace it. He finally asked his domestic help Yadav about it but with no luck. After this, within minutes, Yadav left the houe without informing anybody. Jain lodged a complaint suspecting that Yadav had committed the theft. Yadav’s house at Banka in Bihar was raided and he was arrested. The diamond was also recovered.
