Sponsors raising profile at Challenge Barcelona-Maresme

first_img Related The fourth edition of Challenge Barcelona-Maresme, on Sunday 30 September, drew close to 1,400 participants from over 30 countries to take part in the most popular long-distance triathlon in mainland Spain.The adverse weather conditions the days before the event added extra work to the organisers and volunteers. Nevertheless, as Agustí Pérez, Race Director, mentioned, this is an event that involves the whole local community, and their support made it possible for the organising team to again produce a very successful event.(On Sunday morning the weather had gone back to normal and we went on to see a great event dominated by Lucy Gossage (8:58:43) and by Bas Diederen (8:20:07). In addition, Miquel Blanchart (4th position overall) and Gurutze Frades collected the Spanish LD Championships.)This year’s race marks the consolidation of an event that has seen substantial growth in the last few editions; the pasta-party area and the rock bands along the race were just a few of the improvements that the Challenge Family organisation introduced.This edition also marks a change in the level of involvement of the event’s sponsors – with the introduction of NutriSport, Catlike, BH Bikes, Jaked, Compressport and La Caixa as key partners.In addition, Sailfish also signed an agreement to become the official wetsuit partner. The Challenge Barcelona-Maresme event sponsors took advantage of the three-day expo, which opened from Thursday until the Saturday before the race.Registrations for Challenge Barcelona-Maresme 2013 are already open, and the May Half-Challenge Barcelona-Maresme will celebrate having been assigned the ETU European Half Distance Championship.
